Tania Vicent, of Laval, Que., has already competed in three Olympic Games. She took the 2006-07 season off to have hip surgery and would probably have retired if the Games were not being held in Canada.
"I talked to a lot of people that went to the 1988 Games in Calgary," said Vicent, 32, "They said it was the best thing in the world to be able to skate in your own country. I just can't wait. I'm not supposed to think about this but to enter the stadium, be the last country to come in and have the crowd go nuts and crazy, I'm getting goose bumps just talking about it."

Francois-Louis Tremblay: "Coming to Vancouver in 2010 is the only reason I'm still skating right now. I'm 27, but I wanted to do two more years to make sure that I don't waste this great opportunity to compete in my own country."
